Who is eligible to apply for the funding?

The eligibility criteria will be clearly outlined in the application guidelines. Typically, the funding is open to youth groups aged between 15 to 30 years old that align with the specified themes.

What is the application process and timeline?

The application process, including submission instructions and deadlines, will be detailed in the application guidelines. Applicants will typically be required to complete an application form and provide relevant documentation or project proposals.

What are the specific criteria for selecting the youth groups?

The specific selection will look at the following criteria including alignment with the themes, potential impact, feasibility of the project, youth involvement, and community engagement.

How will the $5000 funding be allocated and utilized by the selected youth groups?

The funds are intended to support project-related expenses, such as materials, equipment, program development, capacity building, or community outreach initiatives. You will get 70% of the funds at the start of the project, then the rest when the project is completed.

Can individuals or organizations from outside the Indigenous and the newcomer communities apply?

Yes, but you must have one member in your team be a representative from the aforementioned communities.

Are there any reporting or accountability requirements for the funded youth groups?

Yes, funded youth groups are typically required to provide regular progress reports, financial documentation, and/or project evaluations. These reporting and accountability requirements ensure transparency and demonstrate the impact of the funded projects, and will be provided to you once you have been accepted.

Are there any specific outcomes or deliverables expected from the funded projects?

The expected outcomes or deliverables will be outlined in the application guidelines provided ro you based on your application acceptance. Examples may include community events, workshops, awareness campaigns, skill development programs, or tangible project outputs.

Can multiple youth groups collaborate and apply together for the funding?

Collaborative applications from multiple youth groups may be accepted, as long as they meet our themes and at least one member of your team is a newcomer to Canada or part of the indigenous community. It's advisable to review the guidelines to determine if collaborative applications are allowed and the requirements for such applications.

Are there any additional resources or support available for the funded youth groups beyond the monetary grant?

The availability of additional resources or support may vary depending on the specific initiative. Your program lead will tell you what other resources are available to you once your project has been accepted.
